Give me a ‘W!’ Give me an ‘E!’ Give me another ‘E!’ Give me a ‘K!’ Give me an—alright, that’s enough of that. You and I both know that nobody has time for that cheerleader crap. It’s time to plan your weekend, people.

Let’s see what’s going down on the Lowdown.

Yes, of course there’s a happy hour going on, it’s Friday! It’s Friday Happy Hour! (photo// 5 p.m., $5 cover, The Proof Nite Club, 7500 E. Hampden Ave.

Let’s Go Rollerskating!

Neon colors, obnoxious patterns, oversized shirts, and roller skates. Sounds like a 90s throwback Saved By the Bell-esque roller skating party! There’ll be roller skating, ping pong, karaoke, dancing, and tunes to make you feel like you’re in the cast of Xanadu (of course, that was the 70s, but whatever). You’ll have to rent skates, unless of course you’re awesome and have your own pair, you awesome roller skater, you. (photo// 9 p.m., $5 after 10 p.m., Exdo Event Center, 1399 35th St.

Saturday

If you think being vegan only involves eating twigs, berries, and tofu and missing out on candy like Twizzlers (which I didn’t realize was totally not vegan), then you are sorely mistaken. Join this healthy crowd and learn about how to put together flavorful, exciting vegan dishes. Your body will thank you for it! (photo// 10 a.m., $30, Share Denver, 2829 Fairfax St.

Have you ever wanted to be in Lord of the Rings, Skyrim, or World of Warcraft? Do you have a burning desire to swing a foam-padded sword into the hearts of your enemies? Join The Duchy of the Iron Mountains Amtgard group, a rambunctious collection of likeminded individuals, dress up, and swing those foam swords, battle axes, and slay your foes! (photo//1pm, Free, Berkeley Park, 4401 W. 46th Ave.

Whiskey, Wine, and Swine

Seems pretty self-explanatory doesn’t it? More than 40 of the best wines and whiskeys and a pork barbeque. If you’re fresh’d out from the vegan cooking, come splurge on some pork of all kinds. Pour yourself a glass and enjoy a beautiful charcuterie plate! (photo// 1 p.m., $35-50, The Tilted Kilt, 1201 16th St., Suite 120.

Sunday

Canworks Tasting Room and Tour

For those who don’t know (aka totally out of the loop), Canworks is Denver Beer Co’s new production brewery and cannery, and they’d like you to check them out. Start off with a tour of the facilities and end with a tasting of their fine products. Sip a beer while you view the brewhouse and canning line. Kind of like a “circle of life” thing, but with beer. (photo) // 4 p.m., TBD, Canworks, 4455 Jason St.

Meditation with Lhoppon Rinpoche

If more people meditated, the world would be a happier place. This Sunday, take advantage of this rare opportunity to learn from Rinpoche, a monk who has studied in the monatery since the age of 5 with masters who escaped from Tibet during the cultural revolution. Rinpoche continues teaching his message of love, truth, and compassion through the art of meditation. Let go of all your stress, anxiety, and depression and discover something beautiful about nature this Sunday morning. (photo) // 10:30 a.m., $10, $5 for Mipham Shedra members, Mayu Sanctuary Denver.

2015 Formula 1 Shell Belgian Grand Prix

Rev a little “vroom vroom” into your life this Sunday with one of the most popular circuits in the world. Belgium’s Spa-Francorchamps circuit is among the most historic on the Formula One calendar and is one of the most exciting races of the season! Join other racing fans for an exciting afternoon of cars going really, really, really fast. (photo) // 5:30 a.m., Free, The Three Lions Pub, 2239 E. Colfax Ave.

Are you going to lie on the couch binging Netflix and wolfing down cookie dough (nevermind how awesome that is), or are you going to get up, get out, and rock out one of summer’s last weekends?!
