The Handmade Homemade Market has offered Denver residents an alternative to the big box shopping experience for over 3 years. Facilitated by Danielle Langworthy, an anthropology professor, and Stephen Toma, a self-described jack of all trades, the Market is held once every two months at the Denver Arts Society building (734 Santa Fe Drive). This year’s holiday market featured a variety of vendors ranging from soap makers, artists, jewelry makers, graphic designers, and budding food entrepreneurs. As a local leader in exploring alternate economies, the marketplace also allows patrons to pay with local currencies and encourages visitors to bring their gently used clothing for a clothing swap. The holiday spirit was palpable this weekend, in no small part thanks to the people-centered approach of the facilitators and fresh live music from local acts. It truly created a warm, festive environment. It was a joy to visit and a joy to capture. See the rest of our HAHO photos here.
