The Denver Lowdown: Shenanigans, Hooligans, and all sorts of -gans
28th May 2015
I hope everyone enjoyed their three day Memorial weekend, because we’re that much closer to the weekend. And you know what that means. Oh yes, it’s another edition of The Denver Lowdown! This weekend may only have two days (much to our chagrin), but that doesn’t mean we can’t rock out those entire two days, right?! … right?
Anyway, let’s check out what’s going down at the Lowdown:
Friday:
Cherry Creek Shenanigans
Any event that uses the word “shenanigans” in its title is totally worth going to. This is a free happy hour open to anybody who is cool. In this relaxed, fun venue you’ll have the opportunity to network, meet new people, build relationships and, well, have some shenanigans. Come one, come all! // 5:30 p.m., free, Irish Hound, 575 Saint Paul St.
Saturday:
Arsenal VS Aston Villa FA Cup Final
What better way to start your Saturday than with breakfast, beer, and football! (That is, real football, not American football where they only occasionally use their foot and it makes no sense… but I’m not hating). Get together with other football lovers and have a pint while you watch an intense game between Arsenal and Aston Villa. Even if you’re not a fan of real football, this will surely be a fun crowd. (Green Street Hooligans, anyone?) // 10 a.m., The Three Lions, 2239 E Colfox Ave. (photo)
Lost Lake Presents: Bully / Hope Dealers / Male Bonding
Who doesn’t love a good show? This Saturday at Lost Lake, Bully, Hope Dealers and Male Bonding will be bringing some cool rock and roll music to your ears and face . For tickets, check out the Lost Lake site. // 8 p.m., $10-$12, Lost Lake Lounge, 3602 E. Colfax Ave. (photo)
Wine and Cheese Party
Ah, what I wouldn’t give right now for a nice prosecco and some humbolt fog. Now, if you were a wine and cheese person, you’d know exactly what I’m talking about. Which is all the more reason for you to check out this nifty little wine and cheese party at Sienna’s Wine Bar this Saturday. It’s a great opportunity to meet new people over some of the finer pleasures in life, and do a little networking while you’re at it. // 9 p.m., Sienna Wine Bar, 3422 E. 12th Ave. (photo)
Sunday:
Gong & Sound Healing Meditation
End your weekend with a little relaxation. For $15 a person, wrap yourself in some Eastern philosophies of meditation, yoga, and chakra balancing to get yourself that much closer to enlightenment. Get the ultimate wind-down before you start your week up again. // $15, Green Light Reiki Healing and Chakra Balancing, 1574 York St. (photo)
Well, there’s your snazzy little weekend wrapped up there. Get your Friday off with a bang at happy hour at the Irish Hound, have a busy Saturday with football and a pint, a wild concert, and wine and cheese, and end your weekend with some much-needed chakra balancing. However you wish to spend your weekend, check out EveryBlock to see what your neighborhood is chatting about and get involved.
Have a spectacular weekend, errbody.
