5 Innovators to Look Out for on the 2015 Millennial Trains Project

Right now there are 25 millennial thought leaders traveling across the country together on one train, all on different missions to come up with innovative ideas to change the world. We have a reporter on that train who is going to be filling us in on all of the best and most exciting things that happen along the way.
So far, we’ve gathered that there are a lot of great innovation brewing on the Millennial Trains Project. Here are five innovators to look out for:
Kalimah Priforce – Oakland, CA
Headmaster CEO of Qeyno Labs, Kalimah is a leader in harnessing the STEM interests of high potential youth from low-opportunity settings through their “Hackathon Academy.”
Kalimah’s Innovative Idea: Building schools of entrepreneurship, rapid prototype development, and design thinking that culminate as web or mobile apps built by youth and their mentors—aka the “Hackathon Academy.” Kalimah is looking to launch two new ones.

Matthew Verlinich – Pittsburgh, PA
As General Manager of TechShop Pittsburgh, Matthew is responsible for the operational and financial management of the vibrant TechShop maker space.
Matthew’s Innovative Idea: Use the Millennial Trains Project as a platform for gaining trans-regional perspectives on the Maker Movement.

Katlyn Grasso – Hamburg, NY
Katlyn is a senior at the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and the founder and CEO of GenHERation.
Katlyn’s Innovative Idea: Build a female empowerment network for high school girls.

Pichleap Sok - Cambodia
Pichleap is a U.S. Department of State Fulbright Foreign Student from Cambodia currently completing a Master’s in Software Engineering at Loyola University Chicago.
Pichleap’s Innovative Idea: Spotlight as many women in the tech industry as possible to help inspire more to enter the field.

Jose Rodrigo Moran Gamez – El Salvador
Jose is a U.S. Department of State Fulbright Foreign Student from El Salvador currently completing a Master’s in International Sustainable Development at Brandeis University.
Jose’s Innovative Idea: Focus on storytelling as a qualitative monitoring and evaluation method for youth development projects.
